Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur\u00a0will be hosting the second edition of its alumni webinar series \u201cAlma Matters\u201d on\u00a021st August 2020\u00a0from\u00a06:30 PM to 8:00 PM.\u00a0The talk will be hosted on Webex.<\/p>\n

Mr. Debanshu Mukherjee, a distinguished alumnus of HNLU who graduated in 2008 and who also served as the President of the Student Bar Association would be speaking on \u201cLawyers, Social Entrepreneurship and Public Policy\u201dAl<\/p>\n

Mr. Debanshu Mukherjee is the\u00a0Co-Founder of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy\u00a0where he\u00a0leads its Corporate Law and Financial Regulation vertical.\u00a0He completed his BCL from the University of Oxford. He was a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for his LLM at the Harvard Law School.\u00a0 He has served as an\u00a0advisor to the government on the design and drafting of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016\u00a0and its subsequent implementation.<\/p>\n

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy started operations in 2013 with a team of five lawyers. Today it is recognised as one India\u2019s leading think-tanks in the policy space. The reports published by the Vidhi Centre are cited widely and have proved instrumental in shaping the public discourse on many areas in need of reform.<\/p>\n

Vice Chancellor Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan will deliver the welcome address.\u00a0He remarked that \u201cAlma Matters will serve as an aspirational platform where the HNLU alumni will be sharing their experiential learning for the \u2018future lawyers\u2019. The \u2018professional travelogue\u2019 of their journey will be a worthwhile narrative on the diverse opportunities and responsibilities expected of the \u2018future lawyer\u2019 by the society\u201d<\/p>\n

The Digital@HNLU faculty team of Ms. Debmita Mondal, Mr. Ankit Awasthi. Mr. Jeevan Sagar, Mr. V. Surya Narayana Raju and Dr. Parvesh Kumar Rajput are sparing their best efforts for this programme and for such future programmes.<\/p>\n
