{"id":233465,"date":"2020-08-06T13:30:41","date_gmt":"2020-08-06T08:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=233465"},"modified":"2020-08-06T13:26:03","modified_gmt":"2020-08-06T07:56:03","slug":"aadhaar-authentication-for-good-governance-social-welfare-innovation-knowledge-rules-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2020\/08\/06\/aadhaar-authentication-for-good-governance-social-welfare-innovation-knowledge-rules-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Centre in consultation with UIDAI makes the above stated Rules.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Purposes for Aadhaar authentication<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(1) The Central Government may allow Aadhaar authentication by requesting entities in the interest of good governance, preventing leakage of public funds, promoting ease of living of residents and enabling better access to services for them, for the following purposes, namely:\u2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(a) usage of digital platforms to ensure good governance;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(b) prevention of dissipation of social welfare benefits; and<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(c) enablement of innovation and the spread of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(2) Aadhaar authentication under sub-rule (1) shall be on a voluntary basis.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Preparation of proposal <\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Ministry or the Department of the Government of India or the State Government, as the case may be, desirous of utilising Aadhaar authentication for a purpose specified in Rule 3 shall prepare a proposal with justification in regard to such purpose for which Aadhaar authentication is sought and submit the same to the Central Government for making a reference to the Authority.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Examination of proposal <\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On receipt of the proposal under Rule 4, if the Authority is satisfied that the proposal is in accordance with the purposes mentioned in Rule 3 and the provisions of the Act, it shall inform the Central Government that the requesting entity may be allowed to perform Aadhaar authentication and thereafter, the Ministry or the Department of the Government of India or the State Government, as the case may be, may be authorised by the Central Government to notify the same accordingly.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Read the Rules here:<\/strong><\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/egazette.nic.in\/WriteReadData\/2020\/220856.pdf\">NOTIFICATION<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Notification dt. 05-08-2020<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Rules, 2020 Centre in consultation with UIDAI makes the above stated Rules.
