We require original, previously unpublished and work that is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Submission Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All submissions shall be sent to\u00a0<strong>editorialboard.ijlia[at]outlook.com<\/strong>\u00a0latest by <strong>31<sup>st<\/sup> July 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indian Journal of Law &amp; International Affairs aims to publish innovative and original papers that make a significant contribution to the wide spectrum of international law and also other related disciplines.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Themes<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indian Journal of Law and International Affairs expects the authors to make their submissions on<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>the themes and sub-themes given below: &#8211;<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW, MIGRATION AND INTERNAL DISPLACEMENT \u2013 IN LIGHT OF COVID \u2013 19 AND OTHERWISE<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Detention of migrants and refugees and their protection under international law<\/li>\n<li>Internally displaced people and their protection under international law during COVID &#8211; 19<\/li>\n<li>Right to universal healthcare and its protection under IHL \u2013 in light of global pandemics<\/li>\n<li>Use of Mediation in the resolution of international armed conflicts.<\/li>\n<li>Impact of COVID \u2013 19 on the global economy and the affordability of armed conflicts, including sanctions, investments, and reparations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>A BRAVE NEW WORLD: CHANGING DYNAMICS OF SELF-DEFENSE AND USE OF FORCE<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Article 2(4)- Use of Force under the UN Charter in the era of proxy wars<\/li>\n<li>Use of Force and Third World countries<\/li>\n<li><em>Jus ad Bellum<\/em> or an attack on sovereignty? Recent shifts in justification for use of force in light of the ongoing US-Iran altercation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>RECENT SHIFTS IN INDIA\u2019S FOREIGN POLICY<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>India\u2019s foreign policy and the recent shifts in India\u2019s interests in the middle-east.<\/li>\n<li>National Foreign Policy \u2013 National Interest or Government Interest? A holistic view of changing foreign policies with changes in regimes.<\/li>\n<li>India\u2019s trade relations with South-East Asian Countries.<\/li>\n<li>India\u2019s interests in the UN-Iran dispute vis-\u00e0-vis the petrodollar and the Chabahar Port.<\/li>\n<li>The Galwan Valley crisis in light of 1993 and 1996 LAC bilateral treaties, and India\u2019s evolving foreign policy qua increasing border disputes.<\/li>\n<li>Pangong and Arunachal Pradesh: A potential Galwan <em>Deja Vu<\/em>? The validity and enforceability of the 1993 and 1996 bilateral treaties under International Law.<\/li>\n<li>Nepal-India crisis: 1950 Indo-Nepal Friendship Treaty and the implication of its potential violation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The above-mentioned list of sub-themes is merely suggestive and not exhaustive. The authors are at liberty to make submissions on other issues which come within the ambit of core-themes mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Submission Categories<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Articles (5000-10000 words, inclusive of footnotes):<\/strong>\u00a0The papers in this category must comprehensively and critically analyse the theme that the author seeks to contribute.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They may be either doctrinal or theoretical (or both) specifically dealing with contemporary and academic issues in international law and related disciplines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Essays: (3000-5000, inclusive of footnotes):<\/strong>\u00a0The paper should be concisely in terms of scope and conceptualisation of the theme intended to highlight by the author. The essay seeks to solve existing paradigms and contemporary issues in international law and related disciplines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Case Comment (1000-3000, inclusive of footnotes):<\/strong>\u00a0The paper related to the case comments should comprehensively deal with the study of contemporary or landmark judicial pronouncement by International Court of Justice, International Criminal Law, Regional Human Rights Court, International Tribunal for Law of Sea etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Book Review: (1500-3000, inclusive of footnotes):<\/strong>\u00a0A critical review may be undertaken concerning the book published in the field of international law and related disciplines.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Guidelines for Submission<\/h4>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>The theme of the submission should be within the ambit of Themes mentioned above.<\/li>\n<li>The submission should be unpublished, original and should not be under consideration elsewhere.<\/li>\n<li>Submission should be made in the electronic form to <strong>ijlia[at]outlook.com under the subject heading \u201cIJLIA Vol.4 Issue 2\u201d submission \u2018Paper Title\u2019<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All the submission must be in MS Word format (.doc) or (.docx) with the Times New Roman Font (Main text: size 12 and 1.5 spaced, footnotes: size 10 and single-spaced).<\/li>\n<li>Page borders should not be used.<\/li>\n<li>An abstract of not more than 300 words should be accompanied in the paper.<\/li>\n<li>Co-authorship (up to 3 authors) is permitted.<\/li>\n<li>All the manuscripts must be accompanied by a cover letter with the name(s) of the author(s), institution\/organization, the title of the manuscript and contact information (email id &amp; phone number)<\/li>\n<li>No personal information or references, including name(s) of the author(s), institution\/organization and contact information be mentioned in the text of the manuscript and file name.<\/li>\n<li>Manuscripts with plagiarism <strong>above 25% <\/strong>shall be summarily rejected.<\/li>\n<li>All the manuscript must comply with the Harvard Blue Book citation (20th Edition) for footnotes.
