can now vote through postal ballot paper<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Central Government after consulting the Election Commission amends the Conduct of Election Rules, 1961.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The above-mentioned rules shall now be called as:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Conduct of Elections(Amendment) Rules, 2020.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>In Rule 27A, following amendment will take place:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(i) in clause (aa), after the words &#8220;or persons with disability&#8221; occurring at the end, the words, letters and figures &#8220;or the COVID 19 suspect or affected persons&#8221; shall be inserted;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(ii) in clause (e) , for the figures and word &#8220;80 years&#8221;, the figures and word &#8220;65 years&#8221; shall be substituted;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(iii) after clause (e), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 &#8216;(f) &#8220;COVID 19 suspect or affected persons&#8221; means the electors who are&#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (i) tested as COVID 19 positive by the Government Hospital or the Hospital recognised by the Government as COVID Hospital; or<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (ii) under home quarantine or institutional quarantine due to COVID 19 , and certified by such competent authority, as may be notified by the State Government or Union Territory Administration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Ministry and Law Justice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>[Notification dt. 19-06-2020]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;COVID-19 suspect or affected persons&#8221;
