{"id":231135,"date":"2020-06-19T18:37:36","date_gmt":"2020-06-19T13:07:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=231135"},"modified":"2023-10-03T15:40:58","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T10:10:58","slug":"telangana-hc-action-sought-against-people-refusing-to-bury-dead-bodies-of-people-from-minority-community-during-covid-19-notice-issued-to-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2020\/06\/19\/telangana-hc-action-sought-against-people-refusing-to-bury-dead-bodies-of-people-from-minority-community-during-covid-19-notice-issued-to-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Telangana HC | Action sought against people refusing to bury dead bodies of people from minority community during COVID-19; Notice issued to State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Telangana High Court:\u00a0<\/strong>A Division Bench of Raghvendra Singh Chauhan, CJ and Vijaysen Reddy, J. addressed matter wherein the concern with regard to the refusal of burying dead bodies of the minority community was placed before.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Court received a letter with the concern being placed regarding the burying of dead bodies belonging to the minority community.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It was stated in the above letter that the dead bodies of the minority community were not being permitted to be buried inter alia\u00a0on the ground that they are affected due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>Petitioner also sought a direction to the Police Department to take stem action against those who refuse to allow the burial of dead Muslim persons in Burial Grounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Thus, in view of the above concern, actions against the people who are refusing to bury the bodies should be taken.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Court issues notice to respondents 1 to 3 and 4.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Advocate Venkateswarlu Sanisetty has been appointed as the amicus curiae to assist the Court in the present matter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Matter to be listed after 2 weeks.
