Ministry of Home Affairs Orders –\u00a0Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Adaptation of State Laws) Order, 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n

The said Order comes into force with immediate effect.<\/span><\/p>\n

Union Ministry for Home Affairs (MHA) has issued an order for adaptation and modification of State Laws specific to the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, to further facilitate the application of Central Laws to the newly formed Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The General Clauses Act, 1897 applies for the interpretation of this Order as it applies for the interpretation of laws in force in the territory of India.<\/p>\n

With immediate effect, the Acts mentioned in the Schedule to this Order shall, until repealed or amended by a competent Legislature or other competent authority, have effect, subject to the adaptations and modifications directed by the said Schedule, or if it is so directed, shall stand repealed.<\/p>\n

Repeal or amendment of any law specified in the Schedule to this Order shall not affect\u2014<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. (a) \u00a0the previous operation of any law so repealed or anything duly done or suffered thereunder;<\/li>\n
  2. (b) \u00a0any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under any law so repealed;<\/li>\n
  3. (c) \u00a0any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against any law so repealed; or<\/li>\n
  4. (d) \u00a0any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege, obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid,<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    and any such investigation, legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced, and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed, as if the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019 (34 of 2019) or this Order had not been passed.<\/p>\n

    Domicile for purposes of appointment to any service in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. — Conditions have been laid down under the said Section to be deemed yo be a domicile of UT of J&K.<\/strong><\/p>\n
