{"id":226825,"date":"2020-03-09T20:37:14","date_gmt":"2020-03-09T15:07:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=226825"},"modified":"2020-03-09T20:40:26","modified_gmt":"2020-03-09T15:10:26","slug":"2nd-inter-university-constitutional-law-judgment-writing-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2020\/03\/09\/2nd-inter-university-constitutional-law-judgment-writing-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd Inter-University Constitutional Law Judgment Writing Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">The Constitutional Law Society at National Law University, Jodhpur in furtherance of its initiative of encouraging debate and discussion in the subject of Constitutional Law is organizing the Second Inter-University Constitutional Law Judgment Writing Competition [\u201cCompetition\u201d].<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">The objective of this Competition is to enable the students to approach a factual matrix from the point of view of a judge, apply the law and render a judgment. The student shall be expected to think like a judge and reach a well-reasoned conclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: small;\">Eligibility<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">The Competition shall be open for the students currently pursuing their Bachelor\u2019s Degree in law i.e. 3-Year LL.B. course or 5-Year LL.B. course from any recognized university\/school in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Individual participation, as well as participation in a team of two i.e. co-authorship, is allowed.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">There is no restriction on the number of entries from any college or university.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">The participants shall be provided with a factual matrix (follow the link at the end) and would be required to write a judgment based on the same.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">The participants shall write a single opinion. Multiple opinions\/dissenting opinions are not allowed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: small;\">Important Dates\/ Timeline<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Release of the Hypothetical: 5th March, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Last date for the Consent of Participation: 15th March, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Last day for seeking Clarifications: 17th March, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Release of the Official Clarifications: 19th March, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Submission of Manuscripts: 5th April, 2020<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Declaration of results: Last week of April<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">*Kindly note that the timeline is tentative and subject to change.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: small;\">Prizes<\/span><\/h5>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">The participants securing the first three positions i.e. First, Second and Third shall be felicitated with cash prizes.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>First Position: Rs. 15,000\/- (sponsored by Senior Advocate Mr. Raju Ramachandran, Supreme Court of India)<\/li>\n<li>Second Position: Rs. 10,000\/- (sponsored by the Eastern Book Company)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Third Position: Rs. 5,000\/-<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">In addition to the cash prize, the first position holders shall also get a copy of the Constitution of India-Coat Pocket Edition.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: small;\">Rules and Regulations<\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #444444; font-family: georgia, serif;\">The format and the assessment criteria of the submissions are mentioned in the Rules and Regulations of the Competition. The students shall send their consent for participation and submit their judgments in the format provided in the aforementioned Rules and Regulations.
