The proposal will also ensure dignity, autonomy, confidentiality and justice for women who need to terminate the pregnancy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 4\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 provides for &#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 4\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(a) requirement of opinion of one registered medical practitioner for termination of pregnancy up to twenty weeks of gestation;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(b) requirement of opinion of two registered medical practitioners for termination of pregnancy of twenty to twenty-four weeks of gestation;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(c) enhancing the upper gestation limit from twenty to twenty-four weeks for such category of woman as may be prescribed by rules in this behalf;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(d) non-applicability of the provisions relating to the length of pregnancy in cases where the termination of pregnancy is necessitated by the diagnosis of any of the substantial foetal abnormalities diagnosed by a Medical Board;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(e) protection of privacy of a woman whose pregnancy has been terminated.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the link to the Bill: <a href=\"http:\/\/164.100.47.4\/BillsTexts\/LSBillTexts\/Asintroduced\/55_2020_LS_Eng.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Lok Sabha<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 was introduced in Lok Sabha on 02-03-2020.
