One of the Convicts in the Nirbhaya Case named Vinay filed a petition seeking medical treatment.<\/p>\n
For the above, Additional Session Judge Dharmender Rana of Delhi’s Patiala House Court sought response from Tihar Jail Authorities seeking medical treatment regarding the claim of mental illness, schizophrenia and head and arm injuries.<\/p>\n
According to prison officials, Sharma injured himself by banging his head on his cell wall in Tihar Jail.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Counsel for Sharma told the court that he was refusing to recognise people, including his mother.<\/em><\/p>\n
\nPlea claimed that when Sharma’s counsel visited him in the prison on the request of his family members, he found that he had sustained a grievous head injury, fracture in his right arm with plaster and was suffering from “insanity”, “mental illness” and “schizophrenia”.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
