{"id":225943,"date":"2020-02-20T11:37:23","date_gmt":"2020-02-20T06:07:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=225943"},"modified":"2020-02-20T18:12:31","modified_gmt":"2020-02-20T12:42:31","slug":"ministry-of-minority-affairs-notifies-the-waqf-properties-lease-amendment-rules-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2020\/02\/20\/ministry-of-minority-affairs-notifies-the-waqf-properties-lease-amendment-rules-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Ministry of Minority Affairs notifies &#8212; The Waqf Properties Lease (Amendment) Rules, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>G.S.R. 126(E).\u2014<\/strong>In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 56 of the Waqf Act, 1995 (43 of 1995), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Waqf Properties Lease Rules, 2014, namely:\u2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1. Short title and commencement.\u2014<\/strong>(1) These rules may be called <strong>the Waqf Properties Lease (Amendment) Rules, 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>2. In the Waqf Properties Lease Rules, 2014,\u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(a) in rule 4, in sub-rule (3), after the word \u201cperson\u201d, the words \u201cor organization or society\u201d shall be substituted;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(b) in rule 5, in the first proviso, for the letters, figures, brackets and words \u201cis less than Rs. 1000\/- (Rupees One Thousand) per month\u201d, the letters, figures, brackets and words \u201cis up to Rs. 3000\/- (Rupees Three Thousand) per month as on 3rd June 2014\u201d shall be substituted;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(c) in rule 6, for the letters, figures, brackets and words \u201cin which the rental income from the leased property is more than Rs. 1000\/- (Rupees One Thousand) per month\u201d, the letters, figures, brackets and words \u201cin which the assessed rental income from the leased property is more than Rs. 3000\/- (Rupees Three Thousand) per month as on 3rd June,
