Tripura High Court:<\/strong> Akil Kureshi, J., dismissed a petition filed by the son of deceased employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) who had died while in service on 04-06-2014 and he had applied for appointment on compassionate grounds, the respondents did not dispute on having received such application but contended that the application was considered but rejected.<\/p>\n

The Counsel for the petitioner P.K. Ghosh, contended that the BSNL followed the rules and regulations framed by the Government in respect of die-in-harness scheme and the orders passed by the department did not contain reasons for rejection of such application. The Counsel for the respondent Biswanath Majumder submitted that the petitioner\u2019s case was considered by the high power committee in terms of the formula for considering whether compassionate appointment should be granted which contained that any applicant who secured less than 55 points shall be treated as non-indigent and his case would be rejected and the petitioner\u2019s score was 36 points.<\/p>\n

High Court while dismissing the petition stated that the petitioner\u2019s case does not qualify to be considered for appointment on the basis of compassionate grounds. [Saikat Ikbal v.
