Nirbhaya&#8217;s parents had appeared in the court with regard to expedite the procedure to hang the victims.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In December 2019 the Supreme Court had dismissed one of the convicts (Akshay Kumar Singh) review plea, one of the four men convicted in the case. The Apex Court had said that there were no grounds to reconsider his death penalty.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Besides the four convicts, two more were accused of rape and murder. Ram Singh, the fifth accused, committed suicide and a juvenile was released after three years in a reform home.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.scconline.com\/post\/2019\/12\/18\/nirbhaya-case-sc-rejects-review-petition-filed-by-the-fourth-death-row-convict-akshay-kumar-singh\/\">Supreme Court&#8217;s decision on the review petition filed by Akshay Kumar Singh<\/a> -One of the Convicts: [18-12-2019]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After a brief hearing on the review petition filed by Akshay Kumar Singh, one of the convicts in the brutal December 16, 2012, Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case, seeking modification and leniency, the 3-judge bench of R Banumathi, Ashok Bhushan and AS Bopanna, JJ has rejected the review petition and said,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe do not find any error apparent on the face of the record in the appreciation of evidence or the findings of the judgment dated 05.05.2017. None of the grounds raised in the review petition call for review of the judgment dated 05.05.2017.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>[Source:
