{"id":222596,"date":"2019-11-27T18:30:13","date_gmt":"2019-11-27T13:00:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=222596"},"modified":"2019-11-27T17:56:16","modified_gmt":"2019-11-27T12:26:16","slug":"centre-informs-of-no-proposal-to-reduce-age-of-retirement-on-superannuation-from-60-years-to-58-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2019\/11\/27\/centre-informs-of-no-proposal-to-reduce-age-of-retirement-on-superannuation-from-60-years-to-58-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Centre informs of no proposal to reduce age of retirement on superannuation from 60 years to 58 years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Retirement Age<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Presently, there is no proposal to reduce age of retirement on superannuation from 60 years to 58 years.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are provisions under Fundamental Rules (FR) 56(j), Rule 48 of Central Civil Services (CCS) (Pension) Rules, 1972 and Rule 16(3) (Amended) of All India Services (Death-cum-Retirement Benefits) [AIS (DCRB)] Rules, 1958, according to which the Government has the absolute right to retire Government officials prematurely, on the ground of lack of integrity or ineffectiveness, in public interest, by giving notice of not less than three months in writing or three month\u2019s pay and allowances in lieu of such notice:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(i)\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 If he is, in Group \u2018A\u2019 or Group \u2018B\u2019 service or post in a substantive, quasi-permanent or temporary capacity and had entered Government service before attaining the age of 35 years, after he has attained the age of 50 years;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0(ii) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0In any other case after he has attained the age of 55 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This information was provided by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances &amp; Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances &amp; Pensions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>[Source: PIB]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>[Press Release dt. 27-11-2019]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Retirement Age Presently, there is no proposal to reduce age of retirement on superannuation from 60 years to 58 years.
