The petitions were filed after the central government scrapped Article 370 in August and bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir into two UTs &#8212; Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh earlier. Following this, phone lines and the internet were blocked in the region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On August 5, the Centre had abrogated Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution and the Parliament had passed the Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganisation) Act, 2019, bifurcating the former state into two Union Territories \u2013 Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmir) with legislature and Ladakh without one.
