{"id":222235,"date":"2019-11-18T13:10:34","date_gmt":"2019-11-18T07:40:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=222235"},"modified":"2019-11-18T13:02:55","modified_gmt":"2019-11-18T07:32:55","slug":"250th-winter-session-of-parliament-begins-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2019\/11\/18\/250th-winter-session-of-parliament-begins-today\/","title":{"rendered":"Winter Session of Parliament begins today; Rajya Sabha marks it&#8217;s 250th Session"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Winter Session of Parliament begins today, following are the key bills that are likely to be taken up for discussion:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>Citizenship Amendment Bill<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Companies (Second Amendment) Bill<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Competition (Amendment) Bill<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Personal Data Protection Bill<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>National River Ganga (Rejuvenation, Protection and Management) Bill<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><b>The Multi-State Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>The Insolvency and Bankruptcy (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two ordinances which were cleared by the Union Cabinet \u2013 one reducing corporate tax rates for new and domestic manufacturing companies to arrest a slowdown in the economy and boost growth, and the other banning sale, manufacture and storage of e-cigarettes in India \u2013 are also likely to be tabled in the Winter Session of the Parliament.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">About 50 bills are scheduled to be presented in the parliament and it will continue till 13-12-2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prime Minister Modi said the Winter session will be the last session of Parliament in 2019 and a very significant one.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is the 250th session of the Rajya Sabha. During this session on November 26, there is Constitution Day, when our Constitution completes 70 years.
