It was established in 2006 by the Punjab Government as a university dedicated to the field of Legal Education. The first vice-chancellor of the University was Gurjit Singh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">RGNUL Financial and Mercantile Law Review was set up as an academic initiative to promote research and debate in areas of financial and economic law. The review looks to understand the legal paradigm prevalent in India and abroad and how it affects finance and other cross border mercantile activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The journal aims at giving the opportunity to legal academia, research scholars, legal practitioners and students to publish work that is at the cutting edge of doctrinal, theoretical and empirical research.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Theme<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The upcoming issue of RGNUL Financial and Mercantile Law Review, i.e., Volume VII Issue I, is going to be a special edition on the broad theme of \u2018<strong>Emerging Trends in Law Governing Investments in India\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Through this edition, an attempt is made to create discourse on the emerging trends within the broad theme. Papers are invited dealing with one of the laws exclusively or mutually.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Illustrative Sub-Themes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Legal Framework governing Alternative Investments<\/li>\n<li>Investment in Social Ventures: A Legal Analysis<\/li>\n<li>Investment Law and Special Economic Zones<\/li>\n<li>Dispute Resolution in Investment Cases<\/li>\n<li>Investment Banking and Mergers &amp; Acquisitions<\/li>\n<li>Law Governing Investment in Capital Markets<\/li>\n<li>Foreign Investment: A Legal Perspective<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, this list is not exhaustive and the authors are free to choose a different sub-theme as long as it comes within the ambit of the main theme, i.e. Emerging Trends in Law Governing Investments in India.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eligibility<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The journal welcomes submissions from students, academicians, researchers and legal practitioners, to come up with their contributions in the form of articles, essays, short notes, case comments, legislative comments and book reviews.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Word limit (exclusive of footnotes)<\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Articles: 4000-6000 words<\/li>\n<li>Short Notes: 2,000 \u2013 4,000 words<\/li>\n<li>Case\/Legislative Comments: 2,500 \u2013 4,500 words<\/li>\n<li>Abstract: 200 \u2013 300 words<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Submission Details<\/h4>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>All manuscripts must be submitted in English.<\/li>\n<li>The research paper should be original and unpublished work.<\/li>\n<li>The paper should not be plagiarized. Plagiarism limit of 12% shall be strictly adhered to.<\/li>\n<li>Submissions should be emailed at\u00a0<strong>rfmlr[at]<a href=\"http:\/\/rgnul.ac.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/rgnul.ac.in&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1570200654221000&amp;usg=AFQjCNHp6zpHwbsappvrShCyr_xQWY1Z1w\">rgnul.ac.in<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0with the\u00a0<strong>subject, Submission for RFMLR 7.1\u201d.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>All entries should be submitted in .doc or .docx format.<\/li>\n<li>The Entry must be typewritten, font Times New Roman, font size 12, line spacing 1.5, justified alignment (except the title and \u2018abstract\u2019 caption which should be centrally aligned).<\/li>\n<li>The citations must be typewritten in the font Times New Roman, font size 10, line spacing 1.0 and justified alignment.<\/li>\n<li>Margins: 1 inch on all sides.<\/li>\n<li>An abstract should be included with the submission.<\/li>\n<li>The co-authorship is limited to a maximum of two authors. Full names and contact details of all the authors must be given.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Citation Format<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Bluebook, A Uniform System of Citation (20th Ed.). All footnotes must be in Times New Roman, size 10, single-spacing and justified.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Submission Deadline<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The submission deadline is\u00a0<strong>November 15, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Review Process<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All articles, case notes and commentaries published in the law review are subjected to a double-blind peer-review process.
