Reed<\/strong>\u00a0will succeed\u00a0<strong>Baroness Hale of Richmond<\/strong> as President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, it was announced on 24-07-2019, alongside three additional appointments to the UK&#8217;s top appeal court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Her Majesty The Queen made the appointments on the advice of the Prime Minister and Lord Chancellor, following the recommendations of independent selection commissions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lord Reed will take up the position of President on 11 January 2020.\u00a0<strong>Lord Justice Hamblen<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Lord Justice Leggatt <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Professor Andrew Burrows<\/strong>\u00a0will join the Supreme Court as justices on 13 January, 21 April and 2 June 2020 respectively.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lord Reed will replace Lady Hale who retires on 10 January 2020 after serving as President of the Supreme Court since September 2017.<\/p>\n<hr
