The Indian Society of International Law (ISIL) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) are happy to announce that the\u00a019th<\/sup>\u00a0Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law\u00a0<\/i><\/b>will be held\u00a0in New Delhi from\u00a019th<\/sup>\u00a0to 22nd<\/sup>\u00a0September 2019\u00a0<\/b>at the premises of the ISIL.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

We cordially invite your esteemed institution to participate in the above event by sending a team of\u00a0three students and a coach\/teacher<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim of the 2019 Henry Dunant Memorial Moot Court Competition remains to promote awareness and understanding of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) among the law students and law faculties in India. This Moot Court Competition has been providing over the years an ample opportunity for the law students of this country to get a better understanding of IHL through contact with theorists and practitioners, and to become acquainted with the practical application and enforcement of this important area of law. The problem prepared for the Moot Court is normally based on contemporary issues of, and challenges to IHL. Participation in the Moot Court involves thorough research and detailed study of IHL treaties, including the 1949 Geneva Conventions and their 1977 Additional Protocols, and the rules of customary law applicable to this area.<\/span><\/p>\n

Registration form should reach us either by post (at ISIL) or by email (<\/span>info.isil@gmail.com<\/a><\/span>) as soon as possible.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The memorials and counter memorials shall be submitted on or before 16th<\/sup><\/b>\u00a0September 2019\u00a0<\/b>at ISIL address.<\/b>\u00a0All the teams are requested to reach the venue of the competition, i.e., ISIL latest by the\u00a0noon of 19th<\/sup>\u00a0September 2019<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The organising committee will provide accommodation and meals to the members of the participating teams for the duration of the competition.<\/span><\/p>\n
