Ved Prakash Sharma, Member, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>B<\/strong><strong>CI to put moratorium for three years<\/strong><\/span> w.e.f the academic year 2020-21, on approval of affiliation of new Law Colleges in the country except for State-run NLUs&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About Bar Council of India:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Bar Council of India is a statutory body created by Parliament to regulate and represent the Indian bar. They perform the regulatory function by prescribing standards of professional conduct and etiquette and by exercising disciplinary jurisdiction over the bar and also sets standards for legal education and grants recognition to Universities whose degree in law will serve as qualification for enrolment as an advocate.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, they also perform certain representative functions by protecting the rights, privileges and interests of advocates and through the creation of funds for providing financial assistance to organise welfare schemes for them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bar Council of India (BCI) has unanimously approved the proposal of Sh.
