The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 9th August, 2019.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Act, 2019.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

An Act further to amend the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Act,1956.<\/p>\n

BE it enacted by Parliament in the Seventieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:\u2014<\/p>\n

1. This Act may be called the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Act, 2019.<\/p>\n

2. In Section 2 of the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Act, 1956, for the word “thirty”, the word “thirty-three” shall be substituted.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, in accordance to the said act, strength of Supreme Court Judges will be increased from 30 to 33.<\/p>\n
