{"id":217716,"date":"2019-08-05T16:17:14","date_gmt":"2019-08-05T10:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=217716"},"modified":"2019-08-05T16:17:14","modified_gmt":"2019-08-05T10:47:14","slug":"unnao-rape-survivor-to-be-transferred-to-aiims-delhi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2019\/08\/05\/unnao-rape-survivor-to-be-transferred-to-aiims-delhi\/","title":{"rendered":"Unnao Rape survivor to be transferred to AIIMS Delhi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Supreme Court<\/strong>: The bench of Deepak Gupta and Aniruddha Bose, JJ has directed the State of Uttar Pradesh to airlift the Unnao rape survivor by air-ambulance to Delhi and transfer her to AIIMS today itself after consulting with the Doctors at Lucknow.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The counsel appearing for the family members of the survivor had submitted before the Court that since the survivor has developed Pneumonia and hence, she should be shifted to AIIMS.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Regarding the lawyer of the survivor, who is in critical condition, the Court said,<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cIn case the family members of the lawyer of the victim make a similar request to the State authorities at 5 Lucknow by 3.00 p.m. today, he shall also be airlifted along with the victim, following the same procedure as laid down for the victim.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On July 28, a truck rammed into the vehicle in which the Unnao rape survivor, her counsel and two aunts were travelling to Raebareli. While she and her lawyer sustained grievous injuries, her aunts were killed on the spot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Uttar Pradesh Police filed a case of murder against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and nine others in connection with the accident.\u00a0<em style=\"font-weight: inherit;\">Meanwhile, the BJP has expelled MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar amidst the controversy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">[IN RE ALARMING RISE IN THE NUMBER OF REPORTED CHILD RAPE INCIDENTS, Suo Motu Writ Petition (Crl.)
