The investigation is to be conducted by Secretary General under supervision of sitting SC judge nominated by CJI, to ascertain whether there was any lapse\/negligence by registry officials in delay in processing letter of Unnao rape victim\u2019s mother to CJI.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ranjan Gogoi, CJ gave the direction to the agency after dismissing Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta&#8217;s plea for a month&#8217;s time for completing the probe. CJI said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00a0&#8220;A month? <span class=\"css-901oao css-16my406 r-1qd0xha r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0\">Probe should be completed within 7 days in the accident case, however, as an exception, CBI can take another week, but in no circumstance shall the probe extend beyond a fortnight.<\/span>&#8220;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>The Court has transferred the trial of all the cases related to Unnao rape incident from Uttar Pradesh to Delhi and the designated judge in Delhi will commence the trial on day-to-day basis and complete the trial within 45 days.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"tweet-action-buttons\" class=\"css-1dbjc4n r-18u37iz r-1wtj0ep r-156q2ks r-1mdbhws\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" role=\"group\" aria-label=\"17 replies, 106 Retweets, 544 likes\">\n<div class=\"css-1dbjc4n r-1iusvr4 r-18u37iz r-16y2uox r-1h0z5md\">\n<div class=\"css-18t94o4 css-1dbjc4n r-1777fci r-11cpok1 r-1ny4l3l r-bztko3 r-lrvibr\" tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\" aria-haspopup=\"true\" aria-label=\"Share Tweet\" data-focusable=\"true\">\n<div class=\"css-901oao r-1awozwy r-1re7ezh r-6koalj r-1qd0xha r-a023e6 r-16dba41 r-1h0z5md r-ad9z0x r-bcqeeo r-o7ynqc r-clp7b1 r-3s2u2q r-qvutc0\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<div class=\"css-1dbjc4n r-xoduu5\">\n<div class=\"css-1dbjc4n r-sdzlij r-1p0dtai r-xoduu5 r-1d2f490 r-xf4iuw r-u8s1d r-zchlnj r-ipm5af r-o7ynqc r-6416eg\">As an interim measure, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>the Court has directed the UP government to pay Rs 25 lakh as compensation to the victim<\/em><\/span> and also directed that security &amp; protection be granted to the victim, her lawyer, mother of the victim, the four siblings of the victim, her uncle, and immediate family members in the village in Unnao.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier in the day, the CJI ordered the CBI to present the status of the investigations after the agency was given charge of the probe into the accident and the FIR that included murder charges against rape accused and BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar.<br \/>\nWhen the SG said the Investigating Officer was out of station and sought time till tomorrow morning for the agency to submit a report, the CJI dismissed it asking CBI to depute some &#8216;responsible&#8217; official who can gather the information over phone and present it to the court. CBI Joint Director Sampat Meena, a woman officer, appeared before the bench and gave the status of the probe into the two cases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">On July 28, a truck rammed into the vehicle in which the Unnao rape survivor, her counsel and two aunts were travelling to Raebareli. While she and her lawyer sustained grievous injuries, her aunts were killed on the spot.
