The Institute of Law Nirma University has made several impacts on the academic and co-curricular landscape and one of the major achievements was the inception of ILNU Debate Society. Being a rarity in Gujarat, there was little chance that the society will flourish but after almost a decade the society has thrived to be better every year and it would be an understatement to say that 1 st ILNU Round Robin Parliamentary Debate is a celebration of these years of ups and downs. Even though the institute has organized 6 editions of its National Parliamentary Debate there should always be room for upgrade. This particular upgrade is one that will promote debating culture in ILNU, Gujarat and the entire country, Keeping the spirit of arguments alive and breathing, which is seriously needed in the era of dying free speech. The Debate Society of ILNU has performed exceptionally in the past couple of years and this event shall act as a catalyst for the reputation created by the institution and its hardworking members.<\/p>\n

Based on Hobart and William Smith College&#39;s Round Robin tournament, this unique event is like a Champions League where teams and adjudicators from institutes across the country are going to register and will be selected based on their achievements in the last year. Top 16 teams will be invited based on their credentials, same shall be the case with the adjudicators.<\/p>\n

Institute of Law understands that traveling to Ahmedabad, paying for accommodation and registration disincentives a lot of good debaters across India, thus we decided that to maintain the quality of the event and also to show gratitude to the great debating talents it is necessary that monetary constraints are eliminated. Hence, all registration fees and accommodation fees is going to be paid by the host. The University has planned to invite some legendary veterans as the Core Adjudicators so that fairness and excitement of the event
\ncan be sustained. Interesting motions, amiable hospitality, competitive rounds, adventurous debates and educational discussions are things that can easily be expected from the event.
\nThe event is scheduled on 4th, 5th and 6th October, 2019. Be prepared for the most anticipated debating event of the year, a healthy and close competition, extravagant prizes and the warm spirit of debating awaits.<\/p>\n
