{"id":213238,"date":"2019-04-04T16:25:41","date_gmt":"2019-04-04T10:55:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=213238"},"modified":"2019-04-05T00:23:32","modified_gmt":"2019-04-04T18:53:32","slug":"sc-agree-to-hear-petition-seeking-stay-on-release-of-pm-biopic-starring-vivek-oberoi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2019\/04\/04\/sc-agree-to-hear-petition-seeking-stay-on-release-of-pm-biopic-starring-vivek-oberoi\/","title":{"rendered":"SC agrees to hear petition seeking stay on release of PM Biopic starring Vivek Oberoi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Supreme Court: <\/strong>The Court has agreed to hear on April 8 advocate Aman Panwar, spokesperson of the Congress&#8217;s plea seeking stay on release of a biopic on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.<\/p>\n<p>Senior advocate A M Singhvi, appearing for petitioner advocate Aman Panwar, spokesperson of the Congress, said two High courts have refused to interfere with the release of the movie starring Vivek Oberoi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court had on Wednesday rejected a plea seeking ban on the release of the movie, &#8216;PM Narendra Modi&#8217;.\u00a0 The Bombay High Court had also on Monday disposed of a plea seeking deferment of the release of the biopic, saying the Election Commission will deal with the issue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Singhvi submitted that the release of the movie may affect free and fair election as mandated in the Constitution. He said the movie was slated to be released on April 5 but there were some media reports on Thursday which said the release has been deferred by a few days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The
