The GNLU Centre for Law & Society is organising an Open House with Mr. Shyam Divan on the topic of \u201cRight to Privacy and the Aadhaar Scheme\u201d on September 29, 2018.<\/p>\n
Mr. Shyam Divan is a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India. He was the leading cousel in the recently concluded case challenging the constitutionality of the Aadhaar Act. He also played an instrumental role in the case of KS Puttaswamy v. Union of India which declared that Indians have a fundamental right to privacy enshrined under Article 21 of the Constitution. Mr. Divan\u2019s areas of specialisation include constitutional law, administrative law, environmental law, banking, among others.<\/p>\n
The aim of the session is to understand the right to privacy \u2013 its different facets and the interplay of the Aadhaar Scheme with the right to privacy.<\/p>\n
