The Geeta Institute of Law is organising a seminar on the \u00a0topic\u00a0Global Enactment of Justice for Women and Children: Issues and Challenges<\/strong> and \u00a0proudly invites keynote speakers from leading \u00a0Universities and \u00a0other organization across the Globe. The seminar aims to provide a platform for discussion on recent advances in justice system for women and children, which include areas of basic human rights, lack of oppor tunities and growth, inept legal systems and other challenges.<\/p>\n

Seminar Background<\/strong><\/p>\n

Global Justice is rooted in the aspiration to make the world a better place. It seeks to help us understand how human beings \u2013 no matter \u00a0who they \u00a0are \u00a0or where they live \u00a0\u2013 can be treated \u00a0fairly. \u00a0The world is \u00a0in fux; religious fundamentalisms, racism, xenophobia, migration and displacement due to \u00a0climate change, \u00a0civil wars \u00a0in different parts \u00a0of \u00a0the\u00a0 world and economic injustice are driving a backlash on women’s and children’s rights and increasing restrictions on their basic human rights and freedoms. Repressive and undemocratic regimes are stepping up their assault on the political and democratic space for civil society. This is despite significant advances in international commitments and national legislation; unfortunately victories in policy and law \u00a0reform are often undermined by \u00a0weak implementation. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified the importance of \u00a0addressing poverty alongside inequality. To realise the level of transformation envisaged \u00a0in the \u00a0SDG’s Agenda\u00a0 2030 requires confronting the power relationships \u00a0and \u00a0vested interests that\u00a0 maintain and thrive on exploitation of women and children in society.<\/p>\n

This Seminar will provide an excellent opportunity \u00a0for students and faculty alike to keep abreast of recent developments, share ideas, \u00a0raise awareness of \u00a0practices that ameliorates the\u00a0\u00a0 working of \u00a0existing social \u00a0and \u00a0legal \u00a0frameworks and help in establishing new Institutions and forums which can \u00a0provide justice to women and children.<\/p>\n
