The\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">IJIPL<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">\u00a0is India\u2019s first student run journal\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">that is wholly devoted to the study of intellectual property. Published annually, it is the combined\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">endeavour of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and the N.C. Banerjee Centre for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Intellectual Property Law to address contemporary issues in the field of intellectual property law.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">In an endeavour to promote diverse and quality scholarship, authors are encouraged to explore\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">contemporary theoretical and legal controversies relating to intellectual property law and policy.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">However, fresh and interesting perspectives on IP policy as well as interdisciplinary perspectives\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">on the subject are also welcome.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The Journal is presently soliciting submissions for its 10th Volume, to be released tentatively in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">April 2019. Undergraduate students, post-graduate students, practitioners, faculty and other\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">academicians are invited to contribute to the journal in the form of essays, articles, notes and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">comments. Guidelines for the submissions are provided below.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The last date for submission of papers is <strong>1<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong>st October, 2018<\/strong>.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">NATURE OF CONTRIBUTIONS:<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">1. <strong>Articles:<\/strong> An article must comprehensively analyse the issue that the author seeks to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">highlight. It must contain a rigorous study of the status quo or a contemporary issue. It\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">must either indicate the lacunae therein or, attempt to suggest possible changes which can\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">address the said lacunae or alternatively holistically and critically assess the status quo. An\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">article should be between 5,000 to 7,000 words.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">2. <strong>Essays:<\/strong> An essay is more adventurous as it challenges existing paradigms\/norms and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">provides a fresh outlook to common problems. It is strongly recommended that essays be\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">considerably more concise than articles, in terms of scope and conceptualization. An essay\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">must thus ideally be between 3,000 to 5,000 words.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">3. <strong>Notes:<\/strong> A note is a relatively concise form of an argument advanced by the author. The\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">focus of a note should be on a relatively recent debate or controversy regarding the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">interpretation or implementation of the law. Notes should primarily highlight and address\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">contemporary issues, which the author seeks to provide a solution for. The word limit for\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">a note is 2,500 words.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">4.<strong>Comments:<\/strong> A comment allows the author to critique any recent\/landmark judicial\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">pronouncement, legislation or a pending bill. The word limit for a comment is 3,500 words.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">5.<strong>Book\/Article reviews:<\/strong> A critical review may be undertaken of a book or article related to\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">intellectual property law. The word limit for a review is 1500-3000 words.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The abovementioned word limits are exclusive of footnotes.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">a. <strong>Format:<\/strong> The citation format to be used is The Bluebook (20th Edn.). In keeping with the same,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">speaking footnotes are discouraged. The body of the manuscript should be in Times New Roman,\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">size 12 and 1.5 spacing. The footnotes should be in Times New Roman, size 10 and single spacing.\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">b. <strong>Abstract:<\/strong> Every submission should be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 350 words\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">describing the relevant conclusions drawn in the manuscript. Please note that there is no\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">requirement of prior submission of abstract as the selection of the paper for publication shall be on\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">the full manuscript. The abstract must be included within the content of the submission and will\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">thus form a part of the content of the manuscript.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">c.<strong>Biographical Information of the Author(s):<\/strong> A separate document with the biographical\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">information of the author(s) must also be attached including the following details: Name, E-mail\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">address, Postal Address, Name and Address of Institution, Course (if applicable), Academic Year.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">There must be no mark of identification of the author, within the text of the submission.<\/span><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION IN THE FIRST INSTANCE<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The submissions will be subject to a plagiarism check as the first stage of evaluation. Any\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">submission found to be not original or found plagiarized from another source, stands rejected in\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">the first instance.
