{"id":195144,"date":"2018-04-10T13:05:08","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T07:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=195144"},"modified":"2018-04-10T13:05:08","modified_gmt":"2018-04-10T07:35:08","slug":"cbdt-provides-transgender-option-in-filing-of-forms-no-49a-and-49aa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2018\/04\/10\/cbdt-provides-transgender-option-in-filing-of-forms-no-49a-and-49aa\/","title":{"rendered":"CBDT provides Transgender option in filing of Forms No. 49A and 49AA\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Vide Notification No. 18\/2018 dated\u00a09th April, 2018, CBDT has added &#8216;Transgender&#8217; in the option to select gender while filling Form Number 49A and Form Number 49AA related to PAN application for individual resident and non-resident applicants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>G.S.R. 352(E).\u2014<\/strong>In<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>exercise of the powers conferred by Section 139A read with Section 295 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Board of Direct Taxes hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Income-tax Rules, 1962, namely:\u2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>1. Short, title and commencement.\u2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(1) These rules may be called the<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Income\u2013tax (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. In the Income-tax Rules, 1962, in Appendix II, in Form number 49A and Form number 49AA, for column number 4 and entries relating thereto, the following item shall be substituted, namely:-<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-644737\"
