{"id":168724,"date":"2017-11-15T15:31:45","date_gmt":"2017-11-15T10:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=168724"},"modified":"2017-11-15T15:31:45","modified_gmt":"2017-11-15T10:01:45","slug":"national-law-school-india-university-bangalore-debate-quizzing-achievements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2017\/11\/15\/national-law-school-india-university-bangalore-debate-quizzing-achievements\/","title":{"rendered":"National Law School of India University, Bangalore: Debate and Quizzing Achievements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Following is the list of Debate and Quizzing Achievements by the National Law School of India University, Bangalore in the present academic year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Debate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Earlier in the year, the team of Vanshaj Jain &amp; Isha Jain broke at WUDC 2017 held at the Hague, Netherland becoming only the second Indian team after IIT Bombay to break the most prestigious debating tournament in the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mahima Priyani, as part of a cross team, broke 8th and reached the quarterfinals of the Hong Kong Debate Open.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Srinivas NC\u00a0and\u00a0Viraj Ananth\u00a0were runner-ups at the BITS Goa Parliamentary Debate.<br \/>\nRamaiah IV:\u00a0Osho Chhel\u00a0and\u00a0Siddharth S. Aatreya\u00a0narrowly lost the finals on a 3-2 split.\u00a0Aman Deep Borthakur\u00a0and\u00a0Suranjan Shukla\u00a0were also in the finals.\u00a0Dhanush Dinesh\u00a0was awarded the best judge of the tournament.\u00a0Osho Chhel\u00a0and Siddharth\u00a0Aatreya\u00a0were tied for second-best speaker.<br \/>\nAditya Prasanna Bhattacharya\u00a0won the Colloquium Debate 2017, organised by the Heritage Institute of Technology, as part of a cross team.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Isha Jain broke as an adjudicator at the Krabi Asian British Parliamentary Championship 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">NALSAR IV:\u00a0Ritika Ajitsaria\u00a0and\u00a0Aman Deep Borthakur\u00a0won the tournament.\u00a0Unnati Ghia\u00a0and\u00a0Osho Chhel\u00a0lost the finals on a 3-2 split with\u00a0Unnati Ghia\u00a0picking up the Best Speaker prize at the tournament. Trishal Kumar reached the finals as part of a cross team.<br \/>\nRitwik Bhattacharya and Suranjan Shukla reached the semifinals.\u00a0Aniruddh Nigam\u00a0and Siddharth Aatreya were quarter-finalists and finished top of the team tabs at 17 points.\u00a0Parv Kaushik\u00a0and\u00a0Mallika Sen\u00a0reached the pre-quarters.\u00a0Smriti Kalra\u00a0broke as an adjudicator.<br \/>\nRV Debating Tournament:\u00a0Siddharth S. Aatreya\u00a0and\u00a0Aniruddh Nigam\u00a0reached the finals and were awarded 2nd and 3rd best speaker respectively.\u00a0Osho Chhel\u00a0and Ritika Ajitsaria also reached finals and Osho was the 10th best speaker. Karan Dhalla and Mansvini Jain reached semi-finals.<br \/>\nPES Debating Tournament 2017:\u00a0Aniruddh Nigam\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Siddharth S. Aatreya\u00a0were declared runners-up, losing the finals on a 5-2 split.\u00a0Osho Chhel\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Ritika Ajitsaria\u00a0were also finalists.\u00a0Unnati Ghia\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Aman Deep Borthakur\u00a0made semi-finals with Unnati also winning the 2nd best speaker at the tournament. As a part of different cross teams, Trishal Kumar made to the semi-finals and Pranjal Dhaka made to the quarter-finals at the tournament.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">MIT Debating Tournament:\u00a0Unnati Ghia\u00a0and\u00a0Aman Deep Borthakur won the MIT Debate Tournament. Aniruddh Nigam was adjudged as the best speaker of the tournament.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quizzing<\/strong><br \/>\nJeydev CS and Abhishek Choudhary came runners-up at the 2nd National Conquest Quiz Competition, organized by Centre for Law and Policy Research.
