{"id":159704,"date":"2017-09-29T11:10:49","date_gmt":"2017-09-29T05:40:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=159704"},"modified":"2017-09-29T11:10:49","modified_gmt":"2017-09-29T05:40:49","slug":"call-for-papers-journal-of-sports-law-policy-and-governance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2017\/09\/29\/call-for-papers-journal-of-sports-law-policy-and-governance\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Papers: Journal of Sports Law, Policy and Governance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>About the Journal: <\/strong>The\u00a0Journal of Sports Law, Policy and Governance (JSLPG) will be a bi-annual (May and December) double-blind peer reviewed open-access journal published under the aegis of North-East Students for the Furtherance of International Law (NESFIL), an International Law Students Association (ILSA) chapter, in collaboration with National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our aim is to build a global initiative for research and development in the niche area of International Sports Law, Policy and Governance. The journal will primarily focus on highlighting, contemporary and critical issues affecting the formulation, regulation and implementation of law and policy affecting sports.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All the submitted manuscripts will be put through a strict review process by an eminent Editorial Panel of experts in the area. Submissions are invited from legal practitioners, academicians, students and other stakeholders for the forthcoming issue (December, 2017).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Subject Area: <\/strong>The submissions may relate to (but not restricted to) the following themes &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0International sports Arbitration<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The regulation of Mega-sporting events<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Issues pertaining to Ethics and Governance in sports<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Comparative sports Law<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Legal Issues pertaining to E-sports<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Anti-trust issues in sports<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">The legal battles of Fantasy sports<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sports and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Human Rights issues in sports<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gender Issues in sports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We seek contributions in the following forms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Long Articles (between 7,000-15,000 words including footnotes).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Short Articles (between 3,000-7,000 words including footnotes).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Essays (2000-3000 words including footnotes).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Book Reviews (1000-2000 words including footnotes).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Case Commentaries (1000-3000 words including footnotes).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Policy Reviews (No word limit).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Content guidelines:<\/strong> 1. All submissions must be made through e-mails to <a href=\"mailto:jslpg@nluassam.ac.in\">jslpg@nluassam.ac.in<\/a> in the form of an attachment in .doc or .docx (MS Word format). The subject of the email must be edited as provided below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>Name of the Author_Type of Contribution_Name of the Institute_Theme of the Contribution<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. All submissions must be accompanied by a cover letter containing, (i) Title of the paper\/essays\/reviews\/commentaries, (ii) Name(s) of the author(s), (iii) Designation, including the institution\/affiliation, (iv) The contact information (correspondence address, email, and phone number).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. The submission must also include an abstract of not more than 250 words.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. The submissions must conform to the prescribed word limit. The prescribed word limits are inclusive of footnotes but not the abstract.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">5. The formatting shall be according to the following parameters:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">a) Main Text and Headings :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Font \u2013 Times New Roman<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Font size &#8211; 12<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Line spacing &#8211; 1.5<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Margin \u2013 1\u201d from all sides.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">b) Footnotes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Font \u2013 Times New Roman<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Font size \u2013 10<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Line Spacing &#8211; 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">6. All citations shall be in accordance with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation 19th Ed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">7. Co-authorship of up to 3 authors is allowed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">8. The submission should be original, unpublished and non-plagiarised. Authors are required to obtain written permission for the use of any copyrighted material and the same must be communicated to the journal\u2019s editorial board.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">9. Copyright of all entries received shall exclusively vest with the JSLPG and the submission of work would imply that the contributor has assigned such rights to JSLPG on its publication in the journal. Only the moral rights will vest with the author.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">10. Authors are also required to inform the Editorial Board if they have submitted their manuscripts to any other law journal and whether they have received an offer of publication.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">11.
