Supreme Court<\/strong>: The Bench of A.M. Khanwilkar and Navin Sinha, JJ adjourned the hearing\u00a0on petitions against Centre’s decision making Aadhaar mandatory for certain Schemes, to 27.06.2017.\u00a0Taking note of the fact that there were other petitions seeking similar reliefs, the Court said that it was\u00a0appropriate that all the applications involving overlapping issues were\u00a0heard together analogously to avoid multiplicity of hearing on the same subject matter. The bench, hence, listed the matter on 27.06.2017 subject to the availability of the Bench, on which date all aspects would be considered appropriately.<\/p>\n

Earlier Justice L. Nageswara Rao had recused himself from the matter which was to be taken up on 17.05.2017 initially by the\u00a0vacation bench of L. Nageswara Rao and Navin Sinha, JJ on account of him\u00a0appearing as ASG in the matter earlier.<\/p>\n

On 09.05.2017, Senior Advocate Shyam Divan had urged the Court that\u00a0 some urgent orders are required on the interim prayers made by the petitioners, as enrollment under Aadhaar in respect of certain welfare schemes is required by 30th June, 2017 . He said that as per the orders dated August 11, 2015 passed in K.S. Puttaswamy v. UOI, (2015) 8 SCC 735<\/a>\u00a0wherein the Court observed that having regard to the importance of the matter, it is desirable that the matters be heard at the earliest. [Shantha Sinha v.
