its officials"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>S.O. 535(E).\u2014<\/strong> Whereas, the Government of India signed an inter-governmental Memorandum of Understanding for establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (hereinafter referred to as the Bank) on 24<sup>th<\/sup> October, 2014;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And whereas, the Government of India signed the Articles of Agreement establishing the Bank on 29<sup>th<\/sup> June, 2015 and ratified the said Agreement on 18<sup>th<\/sup> December, 2015;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And whereas, Article 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 of Chapter IX of the Articles of the said Agreement provide for privileges and immunities of the Bank and its representatives and officials;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And whereas, the Central Government considers it expedient to extend the necessary privileges and immunities provided under the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947) to the Bank and its representatives and officials;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 3 of the United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 (46 of 1947), the Central Government hereby declares that the provisions of Section 1 of Article I, Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and Section 7 of Article II, Section 9 of Article III, clauses (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) of Section 18 and Section 20 of Article V and clauses (a), (b), (c), (e) and (f) of Section 22 of Article VI of the Schedule to the said Act shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, its representatives and officials.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">Ministry of External Affairs<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>S.O. 535(E).\u2014 Whereas, the Government of India signed an inter-governmental Memorandum of Understanding for establishing the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (hereinafter referred <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":91,"featured_media":28141,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[1188,2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-110951","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-hot_off_the_press","category-news"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.4 (Yoast SEO v27.4) - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-premium-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Provisions of United Nations (Privileges and Immunities) Act, 1947 extended to Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank &amp;
