Hidayatullah National  Law University recruited 23 new faculty in June/July 2021 increasing its current faculty strength by around 80%. The premier Law University is ranked in  the top 10 nationally by various surveys and also ranked 51-100 among the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) Ranking in Crisis management and 201-300 among the World’s Universities with Real Impact. HNLU has recently has transformed itself in physical infrastructure and human resources quotient.

The University has added  4 new Professors (currently total 5), 6 Associate Professors (currently total 7) 18 Assistant Professors (currently a total of 42 ) with 54 faculties of which 47 are from Law and 7 are from social sciences .  The new recruitment is an increase of 79.31 percent in this academic year.

Currently 15 Alumni of HNLU having UG/PG/PhD degrees are faculty which is the highest for any National Law School in India. The women faculty number around 20 (37.03%) compared to 34 Male faculty (62.96%) amounting to a ratio of 20:34.  A total of 30 Faculty have a Ph.D. and the average teaching experience is 8.42 years with a median age of 36.3 years and drawn from 14 states of the Country. The current faculty = student ratio stands at 1: 18.46.

The University caters its 50% of 900 + UG seats and 60 + LL. M. Seats under domicile category of State of Chhattisgarh and has 59 % reservation for OBCs (14%) SC (13%) and ST (32%- highest in the country) in the domicile quota as per State regulations. The University also has 8 seats for NRI category, 2 seats for Foreign Nationals, 5% seats are reserved horizontally for Specially Abled Persons (SAP) at All India level according to The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, 5% seats are  reserved horizontally for the Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and 3% Seats are reserved horizontally for Dependents of Freedom Fighters (DFF) category of candidates belonging to the State of Chhattisgarh only, 5 for Wards of Kashmiri Migrants and 2 for Students from Jammu & Kashmir.
