A team representing Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA, comprising of Ms. Nandini Gupta, Ms. Rishika Somani and Ms. Shraddha SS, third year students participated in the 5th Shri N J Yasaswy Memorial Virtual Moot Court Competition, 2020 organized by ICFAI Law School, Hyderabad with the aid of the Lexknot from October 16-18, 2020 and were adjudged ‘Winners’. They were awarded a cash price of INR 5,000.

20 teams across India were invited to participate in the competition. The rounds took place virtually due to the pandemic.

The competition was based on two sets of moot propositions, for different stages. The problem for the two preliminary rounds and the quarter finals was based upon the application of the principles of Market Dominance, Predatory Pricing and Cartelisation under the Competition Act, 2002. The problem for the semi-final and final rounds was based on the validity of the removal of an Executive Chairman, and issue of Rights Share under the Companies Act, 2013
