The President in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India appointed  Justice Huluvadi Gangadharappa Ramesh, senior-most Judge of the Madras High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date  Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, relinquishes charge of the office of the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court consequent upon his appointment as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
