On 15.06.2015, a landmark Motor Vehicles Agreement (MVA) was signed between India, Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh in Thimpu, Bhutan. The objective of the agreement is to regulate passenger, personnel, and cargo vehicular traffic for seamless movement of people and goods among the four SAARC Countries for the benefit and integration of the region and its economic development.
